Rev. Reba D. Wiley was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She graduated from Spartanburg Methodist Junior College in 1970, Winthrop University in 1974, and Candler School of Theology at Emory University in 1977. While attending seminary, she met and married Rev. Steven A. Wiley and transferred to the Alabama-West Florida Conference in 1976. She has served the Epworth UMC in Eufaula, AL, Campground-Petrey Charge, near Troy, AL, St. Mark's UMC in Montgomery, AL, Flomaton UMC in Flomaton, AL, Gilbertown Charge in Gilbertown, AL, and Grove Hill UMC in Grove Hill, AL. Reba served as an alternate delegate to General Conference in 1996 and was the first clergywoman elected from this conference to serve as delegate to General Conference in 2000, 2004 and has been elected to serve as a delegate in the General Conference in Fort Worth, Texas in 2008. She served as a delegate to the Jurisdictional Conference in 1996, 2000, 2004 and has been elected to serve as a delegate in 2008 as well. She was appointed to the Demopolis District as the first woman to become a District Superintendent in June of 2001, where she has continued to serve through 2007.
